Mandarin Professor from Guilin, China Visits Radar Malang

 

MALANG CITY – Professor of Mandarin from Guilin, China, Chen Wenqiang, visited the office of Radar Malang on Jalan Kawi, Malang City, to extend his congratulations on its 24th anniversary.

On Tuesday afternoon (May 23), he came with his colleagues to establish communication with the Radar Malang’s board of director.

“I will be in Malang for 4 years, so this is the beginning of a good friendship with Radar Malang for the years to come,” said Chen in the editorial room.

Occasionally, with simple Indonesian language, Chen Wenqiang uttered short sentences.

Words like thank you, ‘pak’ (sir), and several other short words were occasionally inserted in the English conversation.

He hopes that in the future, the cooperation between the campus and Radar Malang will be even closer.

Especially with the campuses that now serve as the teaching places for Mandarin lecturers in Malang, including Chen himself.

“Myself and the Mandarin lecturers teach at four campuses, namely Universitas Negeri Malang, Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Ma Chung, and Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM),” he said.

Chen came together with an academic and his junior colleague, Miss Song JiaXing, also reporter and editor for Confusian Institute magazine.

She is also a foreign lecturer at UMM, who came along with Herlambang and Irwan as liaison personnel.

Don Virgo, the General Manager of Radar Malang, welcomed the meeting with the Mandarin lecturers’ network in Malang. “We welcome this communication and certainly hope for continuous and high-quality cooperation with all the campuses that offer this program,” he emphasized. (fin)
